Government Recognised Training
Nationally Recognised Qualifications
At the LiFE Academy we are committed to fostering the quality and professionalism of graduates of our nationally recognised courses. Our students can pursue a professional career with the latest knowledge and practical skills, while being trained by people who are using these skills in the real world of work. Our graduates are in demand because of their unique training and ability to truly help other people cope with and enhance the quality of everyday life. Our graduates have been working in hospitals, aged care facilities, palliative care, mental health services, health clinics, schools, Aboriginal communities and private consultative practice.
The qualifications we offer are ideal for:
- Anyone wishing to gain a Western Australian government priority qualification in an area that is in peak demand now and for the foreseeable future.
- The lay person, health professional, psychologist, mental health worker or counsellor who wishes to explore unique strategies for mental health and wellbeing, plus the latest global and national knowledge on mental, emotional/social wellbeing, the ever-changing landscape of drugs, alcohol and mental health challenges.
- Anyone wanting tools to increase the quality of their life and relationships, both in understanding themselves and others and being able to deal with problems with both proven traditions from the world’s first peoples and the latest modern methods.
Through your course you will be guided through today’s landscape of health and wellbeing while learning new skills for building a healthy sense of self, positive relationship with others and your community, and the many roads to recovery and resilience. You will also learn bonus skills to pass on to those in need, such as healthy diet/exercise/sleep plans, music therapy and traditional use of yoga, meditation and other strategies of mind-body medicine.
Jobs and Skills WA
Since 2018, LiFE Academy, with the support of the WA government’s Department of Training and Workforce Development, has been able to offer subsidised places in the CHC43315 – Certificate IV in Mental Health. Since 2021 the CHC53315 – Diploma of Mental Health is also offered under the government subsidy. Feedback has been unanimous – it is just what people need for their own health, their career, and the health of society. For existing workers, or those wanting to begin this career, these courses provide skills and strategies for dynamic practice.
Jobs and Skills WA is about investing in training that equips people to take up jobs that are, or will be, in high demand in Western Australia. To do this, Jobs and Skills WA provides a guaranteed, subsidised training place for eligible students enrolled in courses that are deemed State priority qualifications, where a training place is available. Read more information about what Jobs and Skills WA training is available here.
For the Diploma course which is subsidised as a priority qualification, students are required to contribute to their training costs. Students experiencing financial hardship are able to apply to pay by instalment or for a fee waiver that will be assessed on an individual basis. A Fee Waiver Application Form must be completed by the student which will be assessed by LiFE Academy administration for eligibility. The application and evidence submitted will be recorded on the student’s file.
The Student tuition fees are indicative only and are subject to change given individual circumstances at enrolment. Additional fees may apply such as student service and resource fees.
